"A candle loses nothing when it lights another candle." Thomas Jefferson

Drama Drash is a new and exciting drama teaching ministry based in Lawton, Oklahoma currently

seeking volunteers and prayer support.

Drama Drash is preparing for our next production: Ladies Man,
a series of vignettes about the women of the gospel.  It is is
scheduled for July 15, 2-4 PM at Bethel Assembly of God in
Lawton, OK.

Drama Drash Ministers are in rehearsal for their latest live production, Ladies Man, a series of narrated vignettes
featuring seven extraordinary women of the gospels. Included in this dramatic presentation are The Woman with
an Issue of Blood, The Woman at the Well, The Adulteress, The Woman with the Alabaster Jar, Martha of Bethany,
and the Syro-Phoenician Woman. The Mother of Jesus will also be presented, highlighting five milestones in her
life as the mother of Messiah.

Ladies Man will be preceded with a skit, The Mating Game, based on the popular 60’s game show,
The Dating Game. The Mating Game contestant, Iglasia Church will have to choose between three
“eligible bachelors;” Satan, The World, or Jesus Christ.

Popular Christian authoress, Liz Curtis Higgs has graciously donated an autographed copy of
“Bad Girls of the Bible” which will be given as a door prize.

Ladies Man will be presented live at a ladies tea that will be held from 2 -4PM, on Sunday,
July 15th, at Bethel Assembly of God on the corner of 12th and D Avenue in Lawton . Tickets

The Vision

Drama Drash seeks to minister through drama to the Church during these last days "tearing down the middle wall of partition” that the Old and New Testaments might both be viewed as one complete, eternally relevant text.

Lost in the Translation

When Christians gaze into the mirror darkly, attaching twentieth century meaning to first century words, some significance is lost in the translation. Drama Drash productions take the audience back to first century Judea, where Jesus lived and taught, illustrating how profound, foundational wisdom from the early church has evolved into modern Christian concepts.

Testimony

"After attending this production, reading the New Testament without referencing the Old Testament will feel like a fragment sentence, like part of the message is missing. Searching the scriptures will take on new meanings for me. . . I understand more and more the value that God has placed on our relationship and it is much greater that I could ever imagine. He is a great and awesome God."

FILMING A MARRIAGE MADE IN HEAVEN:

We are filming A Marriage Made in Heaven, a dramatic re-enactment of the first century Jewish wedding and how it prophetically relates to the Church as the Bride of Christ. Filming will take place March 18-24 at the Holy City of the Wichitas. We again need three men to fill out the leading roles--I am particularly looking for men with dark skin and features to more closely simulate first century Judea. This is a collaboration with the annual Easter Passion Play. The cast of the pageant will appear as extras in the film. In the spirit of unity, I've committed our cast to performing in the Easter Passion Play--not A Marriage Made in Heaven but in the passion play itself.

The performance took place on March 10th, 2007 and was exceptional!

The Case of the Missing Holiday
BIBLE INVESTIGATOR SEEKS A TRUE, BIBLICAL BIRTHDAY OF MESSIAH

Case of the Missing Holiday, the latest Drama Drash production and
the first installment of the Bible Investigator Adventures, was
presented at Salt of the Earth Ministries in time for the holidays.
Featuring the fictitious Angela Emes, B.I. (Bible Investigator), this
holiday mystery is written, tongue-in-cheek in the classic noir style
and will be fun for the entire family! Emes will teach our hysterical
heroine that the answers to all life's pressing questions can be
found in God's Word—we can even find a God-pleasing way to celebrate
the birth of Jesus Christ and still have peace on earth!

The performance took place at 7:00 PM, on December 7th in the
beautiful sanctuary at Salt of the Earth Ministries, 1502 SW "I"
Avenue, Lawton, OK.
The performance was preceded with door prizes, praise and
worship, and a visit from The Innkeeper's Wife!

Drama Drash is an interdenominational ministry that ministers to the
Body of Messiah; calling the Church to holiness and unity and
enriching the believer's relationship with Jesus Christ through
instructional drama, presented from a first century perspective. The
word "drash" comes from a Hebrew term meaning to study Scripture at a
deeper than surface level and is the word translated "seek" in
Deuteronomy 4:29-30, But from there you will seek the LORD your God,
and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with
all your soul. NKJV

Five area congregations were represented in the cast and crew of The
Case of the Missing Holiday
. Please feel free to call or email with
any questions you may have about the ministry or the production:

Ministry Opportunities

Drama Drash is looking for spirited actors, actresses, and stage crew volunteers to grow with the ministry, visiting area churches with 45-60--minute dramatic teaching illustrations of traditional biblical concepts with a first century perspective. For more info, email Shirley Harkins at  sjh@shirleyjharkins.com or call (580) 704-1983.

To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Colossians 1:27 NKJV
