Yahshua Speaks on Two House Restoration

by Daniel Payton, Beit Tefillah, Lawton, Oklahoma

The two-house restoration revelation is clearly and powerfully presented in many portions of scripture. However, what does Yahshua have to say on this topic?

Initially, He clearly stated that He was not sent except to the lost sheep of the House of Yisrael. Mt 15:24. Further, Yahshua directs His disciples to go to the lost sheep of the house of Yisrael. Mt 10:6. We also know that He came to seek and to save that which was "lost." Lk 19:10; Mt 18:11.

However, where does Yahshua expound the "nuts and bolts" of the two-house restoration message? If this truly was a teaching of importance to Yahweh,  it seems that it should be clearly presented by His only brought-forth Son, Yahshua. Fortunately, it has been "hiding in plain sight." Remember that it  is the glory of Elohim to hide a matter; however, it is the glory of kings to search out that hidden matter. Prov 25:2.

To promote the reader's understanding of Yahshua's revelation of this  two-house restoration truth, let us quickly review the first chapter of  Hoshea/Hosea. The prophet Hoshea is commanded by Yahweh to marry a whore.  Hos 1:2. He took Gomer as his wife. Hos 1:3. Gomer was a whorish wife to Hoshea just as the house of Yisrael was a whorish wife to Yahweh. Yahweh prophetically demonstrates the stages of His putting away/divorce of the house of Yisrael through the naming of Hoshea's three children. Yahweh tells Hoshea to name the first child "Yizreel." Hos 1:4. This name literally means "Elohim sows by scattering." Thus, Yahweh is saying that He will scatter the house of Yisrael from the Land of promise. Gen 13:14-17. Yahweh tells Hoshea to name the second child "Lo-Ruhamah." Hos 1:6. This name literally means "no mercy/no compassion." Thus, Yahweh is saying that He will no longer have compassion or mercy on the scattered house of Yisrael. Yahweh tells Hoshea to name the final child "Lo-Ammi." This name literally  means "not my people." Thus, Yahweh is saying that the house of Yisrael is no longer His people. This final statement is a very strong statement. The prophet Yirmeyahu confirms this statement. Speaking of the house of Yisrael, Yahweh declares that Yisrael had committed adultery, thus He had put Yisrael away and had given Yisrael a bill of divorce. Jer 3:8.

Yahweh declared: (1) that He had scattered the house of Yisrael from the Land; (2) that He no longer had compassion or mercy for the house of Yisrael; and (3) that the house of Yisrael was no longer His people. Praise Yah that Yahshua came with a message of redemption and restoration for these divorced lost sheep of the house of Yisrael.

Let us consider the first few verses of Yahshua's Sermon on the Mount with an eye of discernment. These verses reveal Yahshua's systematic plan for the restoration of the house of Yisrael. To clearly see the two-house restoration teaching in these verses, let us focus only on the "promises" of each verse. (Please note that the means to the individual promises are provided in each verse, but are not analyzed in this teaching). Let us focus on the promises at this time:

Blessed are the poor in spirit, because THEIRS IS THE KINGDOM of the heavens.

Blessed are those who mourn, because THEY SHALL BE COMFORTED.

Blessed are the meek, because THEY SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, because THEY SHALL BE FILLED.

Blessed are the compassionate, because THEY SHALL OBTAIN COMPASSION.

Blessed are the clean in heart, because THEY SHALL SEE ELOHIM." Mt 5:3-8  (emphasis added).

Now let us consider each promise individually and see how the first three verses reveal a three-step reversal of the dreadful Hoshea declaration and the next three verses provide a three-step witness of this reversal.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, because THEIRS IS THE REIGN OF THE HEAVENS. Mt 5:3. In verse 3, the stated promise is "theirs is the reign [kingdom] of the heavens." Who are the two major parties to a kingdom? The two major parties to kingdom are a "king" and a "people." If we have a kingdom, then we must have a people. Thus, those that are poor in spirit are promised to be a "people" to the king. This is a veiled reversal of the dreadful "Lo-Ammi" (not my people) proclamation.

Blessed are those that mourn, because THEY SHALL BE COMFORTED. Mt 5:4. In verse 4, the promise is "they shall be comforted." Strong's indicates that they shall be consoled, encouraged and strengthened by consolation and comforting. This is the type of ministry that would be offered by a person having compassion and mercy for another. This is a veiled reversal of the "Lo-Ruhamah" (no mercy/no compassion) proclamation.

Blessed are the meek, because THEY SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH. Mt 5:5. In  verse 5, the promise is "they shall inherit the earth." This is a quote from Psalm 37. Five times in Psalm 37, it is promised that certain ones will inherit the "earth." Ps 37:9, 11, 22, 29 & 34. What exactly shall they  inherit? The Hebrew word for what they will inherit is "eretz." Strong's #776. This word is used 2,504 times in the Tanach and 1,543 of those times it is translated "land" rather then "earth." In fact, the Complete Jewish Bible renders this verse as "How blessed are the meek for they shat inherit the Land." CJB 5:5. What land will they inherit? The promised land -- of course. Gen 13:14-17. This is a clear reversal of the "Yizreel" (I will  scatter you from the Land) proclamation.

Isn't this awesome? In the first three verses of Yahshua's first major  teaching, he proclaims a wondrous threefold prophetic restoration of the dreadful threefold prophetic proclamation of Hoshea. However, let everything be established by two or three witnesses. Mt 18:16. Let us return our focus to the next words out of our Messiah's mouth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, because THEY SHALL BE FILLED. Mt 5:6. In verse 6, the promise is "they shall be filled." Filled with what? Simply stated, they shall be filled with that for which they hunger and thirst -- righteousness. What is righteousness? It is the cleanness of our hands in the eyes of Yahweh. Ps 18:24. Praise Yah, by His gift of righteousness, He has made us righteous through trusting faith in Yahshua. Rom 3:21-28; Rom 4:13, 25; Rom 5:9, 17; Gal 2:16; 2 Cor 5:21.  Because of trusting faith in Yahshua's sacrifice for us, the right standing of the house of Yisrael in the eyes of Yahweh has been restored. Those in right standing with Yahweh are no longer "not My people." Yahshua provides a witness to the reversal of the "Lo-Ammi" (not My people) declaration.

Blessed are the compassionate, because THEY SHALL OBTAIN COMPASSION. Mt 5:7. The promise of verse 7 is "they shall obtain compassion." No explanation needed. Yahshua provides a witness to the reversal of the "Lo-Ruhamah" (no mercy/no compassion) declaration.

Blessed are the clean in heart, because THEY SHALL SEE ELOHIM. Mt 5:8. The promise of verse 8 is "they shall see Elohim." When do we "see" Elohim? We see Him when we tabernacle with Him. Initially, if we are in relationship with Him, He tabernacles in our spirit. 1 Cor 3:16. In addition, as we  observe the Festival of Booths, we tabernacle corporately with Him. However, the fullness of the fulfillment of "the" Festival of Booths is upcoming in the millennium. Zekaryah 14:17 tells us that all clans of the earth will  come to Yerushalayim to bow down and worship Melek Yahweh Tsaba (King Yahweh of Hosts). Thus, prophecy clearly tells us that we will eventually return to the Land and will see Elohim in the Land. Yahshua provides a witness to the complete reversal of the "Yizreel" (I will scatter from the Land) declaration.

Yahshua was sent to seek and to save the lost sheep of the house of Yisrael. Praise Yah, He made available the reversal the threefold divorce proclamation of Hoshea 1 and Yirmeyahu 3. He did this by systematically reversing each of dreadful Hoshea proclamations and promising restoration at each step. Interestingly, this is the same method of restoration that Yahshua used with Peter following Peter's threefold denial of Yahshua. Peter denied Yahshua three times and Yahshua provided a three-step restoration. Jn 21:15-17 (feed My lambs, shepherd My sheep, feed My sheep).

The parallel of Hoshea's and Yahshua's teachings go one step further. The  next verse in Mattithyahu provides that "blessed are the peacemakers, because THEY SHALL BE CALLED SONS OF ELOHIM." Mt 5:9. This parallels Hoshea where it is stated that "in the place where it is said to them 'You are not My  people,' THEY SHALL BE CALLED, 'YOU ARE THE SONS OF THE LIVING EL.'" Hos 1:10.

The restoration of Yahweh's people to Himself is the primary message of Yahshua. This message is of such importance to our loving Abba (Papa) that he sent His only brought-forth Son to deliver His loving message of restoration to His lost sheep. Baruch HaShem Yahweh!

Let these comforting words of Yahweh sink deeply into your spirit as we conclude this teaching:

And I SHALL TAKE YOU AS A BRIDE UNTO ME FOREVER, and TAKE YOU AS A BRIDE UNTO ME in righteousness, and in right-ruling, and kindness and compassion. And shall TAKE YOU AS A BRIDE UNTO ME in trustworthiness, and you shall know Yahweh. . . . .and I shall have compassion on her who had not obtained  compassion. And I shall say to those who were not my people, 'YOU ARE MY PEOPLE,' while they say, 'MY ELOHIM!'" Hos 2:19-23.
